Elizabeth prevailed in a two-week
jury trial in federal court; the jury found for the firm’s client on all claims.
Elizabeth also recently obtained
a complete defense verdict for a large public utility in a case involving claims
of interference with employment contract.
Elizabeth recently obtained a
defense award (in arbitration) in favor of a Fortune 200 client on all claims of
disability discrimination and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Elizabeth has created and conducted
trainings for companies related to compliance issues and litigation avoidance,
and developed employee policies and manuals to reflect changes in applicable laws
or corporate structure.
Elizabeth has conducted workplace
investigations on behalf of employers in areas including EEO issues, employee
relations, union grievances, public accommodation complaints, fraud, workplace
violence, theft, and substance abuse.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining the firm in 2010,
Elizabeth worked in-house as General Counsel and Vice President of Professional
Services at Business Controls, a consulting and technology firm specializing in
workplace complaints and investigations. Prior to that position, Elizabeth worked
in a large national law firm, concentrating on employment law and complex litigation.
